Vision : To foster the growth of the YES Iraq Network this comprises of organizations and
individuals who are committed to ensuring that youth and women, facing poverty, have
productive, decent and sustainable employment
About the Network : Hosted by the Iraqi Commission for Civil Society Organizations, the Iraq
network consists of 127 members from the youth, government business and civil society. It was
founded in 2006, to create work opportunities for the youth in the country. The network has held
many workshops, symposiums and programs with the aim of educating and participating in the
local community, and organized many workshops on civic activism, capacity building, business
and small business management.
Current Major Initiatives:
- Workshops: Civic Activists’ capacity build ing for youth and women. Workshops are used
to increase the political participation of young people in democratic governance including
preparing to be election observers and to motivate youth them to participate in the
National Councils elections.
- Policy Advocacy: General Conference for Iraqi youth and students organizations
- Trainings: Iraqi commission on business management and on youth civic awareness.
- Events: Media Vocational Development for youth forum. Also an event on youth first aid
courses
Key Accomplishments :
- Major partnerships have been formed with Iraqi Commission for Civil Society
Organizations, Iraqi Youth Employment and Development Network, Democratic Youth
Union, The Iraqi Women's Education Association, The Youth and Sports Association,
Democratic Youth Care link, Iraqi Organization for Women and Children, Youth without
violence Organization, Youth Cultural Association
