Description: It is clear that jobs in the public and private
sector are extremely scarce. One billion youth between the ages of 14-24 and
another
1.2 billion
youth under the age of 14 just cannot be absorbed into jobs. Therefore,
a culture of self- employment has to be mainstreamed in all countries.
In this session,
it was shown how MDGs can be fulfilled through youth entrepreneurship
and empowerment.

Session: fulfilling the MDGs through Youth Engagement and Employment

Description: In the year 2000 the Global Community committed
itself to fulfilling the MDGs. The YES Campaign is dedicating its effort
to meeting
these goals,
six of which can have direct youth engagement and involvement.
In these sessions,we learnt from UN agencies and YES Country Networks
about the efforts
that are being made to fulfill these goals and how they fit with
the
YES Campaign's vision and action.
