  • Founded YES Zimbabwe Network in 2001 as non-profit initiative that brought together various stakeholders to develop a coordinated approach to addressing youth unemployment with focus on education, skills training and entrepreneurship.
  • Has a passionate vision to ensure that young women and men in Zimbabwe, especially in rural communities have the opportunities for education and learning to create sustainable livelihoods for themselves and others in their communities
  • Was the Founding Youth Coordinator of Youth Employment Summit Campaign, the Earth Charter Youth Initiative and currently is the Director of Zimele Institute at ORAP in Zimbabwe, that houses the YES Zimbabwe Network
  • Initiated the Youth Scholarship and placement initiative, a program that assists rural youth who graduate from high school and get placements at tertiary institutions in Zimbabwe and abroad, enabling them to be employable (addressing the Employability challenge in the YES Framework for Action launched in Alexandria in 2002). Started Education Working Group that brings together players from the government, civil society and business to better coordinate efforts in improving education, especially in rural communities.
  • Was Selected as an Ashoka Fellow in 2007. Serves as a member of the Earth Charter International Council (www.earthcharter.org), the Board of Directors of Taking IT Global, Eco Ventures International, a trustee of the Rural Education and Advancement Trust (South Africa and Zimbabwe).
  • Attained Global exposure at several international events including the YES Alexandria 2002, the Harvard International Development Conference and the UN NGO Forum (2007) and the traveled extensively to the various parts of the world.
  • Volunteers time for the Rhulani Tarek Development Initiative and other philanthropic initiatives in Zimbabwe
  • Has a Bachelors Degree in Organizational Psychology and Management from Cambridge. His key expertise is in the areas of community mobilization, educational transformation, youth leadership, dialogue facilitation and music.
